Choosing A Web Designer

To select a devhead (as Web developers sometimes call themselves) don't just flip open the Yellow Pages and call AnyDweeb.com. Scope out great-looking sites. Contact their designers (usually they leave a contact tag on the homepage). Find out how much a similar site might cost and what went into its design. Ask to see other examples of the designers' work -- even some "before" and "after" case histories, if possible. Blueroom.net, which charges a minimum of $5,000 for 50 hours of work, has posted examples of this at blueroom.net/index2.html.
