Katy Demcak, Assistant Editor Katy Demcak was hired as an editorial assistant but was rapidly promoted to assistant editor. (For those of you outside the publishing field, they sound similar but they're very different jobs.) She's in charge of 1099's profiles of boss-free people (many of them in unusual professions), and also runs our Letters to the Editor department. Her favorite episode of The Simpsons is "The Itchy and Scratchy and Poochie Show." She lives in the Charlestown Navy Yard, right next door to the USS Consitution, and has recently become engaged. |
